Notice of Special General Meeting: Adoption of New Constitution & Reregistration

Dear Members,

On behalf of the Committee, I hereby give formal notice of a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Society.

This meeting is specifically convened to modernize our governance structure in accordance with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 and to ensure the Society’s continued legal standing in New Zealand.

Changing Consumer Behavior in the Pet Industry

Care for companion animals is no longer limited to basic “pet care.” Instead, pets are increasingly treated as family members who share the same lifestyle standards as humans.

At the center of this shift is a rapidly emerging concept: Eco-Health.
Rather than relying solely on chemical treatments or artificial interventions, pet guardians are turning toward environmentally conscious, sustainable, and preventive wellness approaches. Eco-friendly health care is quickly becoming a new standard in the companion animal industry.

Officially Launches the Foliumist Programme in Asia

We are pleased to officially announce the launch of our IFT. International Foliumist Professional Training Programme in Korea, a programme that has been developed, refined, and operated by our association in New Zealand over recent years.

Across the global companion animal industry, a clear transition is underway. Traditional product-centred and chemically driven approaches to animal care are giving way to eco-friendly, plant-based, and sustainable health services. Pet guardians are increasingly seeking not only safety and effectiveness, but also values aligned with environmental responsibility and long-term wellbeing.

In response to this shift, GMANZ has focused on a fundamental question: What kind of professionals will the future companion animal industry truly require? Our answer is the Foliumist.
