Officially Launches the Foliumist Programme in Asia

We are pleased to officially announce the launch of our IFT. International Foliumist Professional Training Programme in Korea, a programme that has been developed, refined, and operated by our association in New Zealand over recent years.

Across the global companion animal industry, a clear transition is underway. Traditional product-centred and chemically driven approaches to animal care are giving way to eco-friendly, plant-based, and sustainable health services. Pet guardians are increasingly seeking not only safety and effectiveness, but also values aligned with environmental responsibility and long-term wellbeing.

In response to this shift, GMANZ has focused on a fundamental question: What kind of professionals will the future companion animal industry truly require? Our answer is the Foliumist.

Who Is a Foliumist?

A Foliumist is a professional provider of eco-health services for companion animals.

Rather than offering fragmented advice or isolated natural remedies, Foliumists take an integrated view of companion animal wellbeing. They understand the relationship between an animal’s health, its living environment, and nature, and apply plant-based resources and herbal principles to design practical, sustainable health services.

In professional practice, Foliumists may:

  • Assess companion animal wellbeing from an ecological and lifestyle perspective
  • Design plant-based, eco-friendly care services
  • Support guardians with sustainable wellness strategies
  • Contribute to raising standards for green health services within the companion animal industry

For GMANZ, the Foliumist represents a new category of professional—one that combines health expertise, environmental awareness, and service-based thinking. We regard this role as one of the most competitive and future-ready professions emerging within the companion animal sector.
